Terms of use

Last updated 15 October 2026. PULSELINK is in pre-launch testing; these terms will be updated before public release.

These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of PULSELINK, of Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"), for using the PULSELINK app for iPhone and Apple Watch and this website. By using PULSELINK you agree to them and to our privacy policy.

1. What PULSELINK is, and isn't

  • PULSELINK compares your heart rate, as measured by your Apple Watch, with a rule you set, and tells the people you choose when that rule is met and you don't cancel.
  • It is not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose, treat, monitor or predict any medical condition, and it doesn't interpret your heart rate.
  • It is not an emergency service and doesn't contact emergency services. If someone needs urgent help, call 911 or your local emergency number.
  • Talk to your clinician about your health and about what heart-rate rule, if any, makes sense for you.

2. Alerts can be late or not arrive

PULSELINK depends on things outside our control: your Apple Watch being worn, charged and reading your heart rate; your Watch reaching your iPhone; your iPhone having a connection; Apple's notification service; and your supporters' phones. Any of these can fail, so an alert may be delayed, or may not be sent or received at all. Don't rely on PULSELINK as your only way to get help.

3. Who can use PULSELINK

You must be 18 or over. You sign in with Apple, and you're responsible for keeping your Apple Account and your devices secure.

4. Testing and price

PULSELINK is currently a free pre-release test version. It may have bugs, change, or stop working. If we introduce paid features later, we'll tell you first, and payment would be handled by Apple.

5. Supporters and location

  • Only invite people who have agreed to be your supporters. A supporter isn't a professional and isn't obliged to respond.
  • Location is shared only if you turn it on, only during an active alert, and only with supporters you allow. It's deleted when the alert ends.
  • If you're a supporter, use what you see only to check on the person who invited you.

6. What you agree not to do

  • Use PULSELINK to monitor, track or control anyone without their knowledge and agreement.
  • Try to access data that isn't yours, interfere with the service, or reverse-engineer it beyond what the law allows.
  • Share your account, or resell or copy the app.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

7. Your information

What you add, such as notes, stays yours. You let us store and process it only to run PULSELINK, as described in the privacy policy. We don't sell it or use it for advertising.

8. Our content

The PULSELINK name, logo, app and website belong to us. You may use the app for your own personal use.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep PULSELINK running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may add, change or remove features, and we'll update these terms when we do anything significant.

10. Ending

You can stop using PULSELINK and delete your account at any time in the app (Settings). We may end these terms if you seriously or repeatedly break them.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for an alert that is late or isn't sent or received, for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for indirect losses. PULSELINK is provided free of charge during testing.

12. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and isn't responsible for any product claims, intellectual property claims or legal compliance relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario. If you live elsewhere, you keep any consumer protections that the law where you live gives you.
